Ingredients
For plain dough
- All purpose flour (Maida) : 250 grams
- Lukewarm Water : 1 cup
For colourful dough
- Palak (Spinach) : 150 grams
- Beetroot : 150 grams
For filling
- Chicken Mince : 450gms | Preferably grind once in the mixer.
- Onions : 250gms | Finely chopped
- Ginger : 1.5 inch | Minced
- Green Chilly : 2-3 pcs | Finely chopped
- Salt : To taste
- Black Pepper Powder : 1/2 tsp
- Oil : 2 tbsp
- Green Coriander : 4-5 strands | Finely chopped
- Ajino Moto | MSG: 1/2 tsp (optional)
- Spring onion greens : 1-2 strands | Finely chopped (optional)
Steps
- Mix the maida with lukewarm water and knead a stiff dough. Let it rest for at least 20-30 minutes
- In case you want to make colourful momos, boil & then grind palak and mix maida
- Knead a stiff dough and can repeat the same process with beetroot. Key is to let the dough rest for at least 20 minutes
- Mix all the above mentioned in filling and let it marinate for a minimum of 30 minutes
- Keep the filling mixture in the fridge for best results.
Moulding of Momos
- Make small pellets of the dough and roll it out
- Place 1 to 1.5 tbsp of filling in the round rolled out dough
- Make shapes according to your wish
- Try making potlis for beginners and eventually you will learn recreating new shapes
- Preheat the momos utensil for 2 minutes (Tip : Idli utensil can be used )
- Steam the Momos for 15-20 minutes in a medium to low flame
- Your Chicken Momos are ready and serve it pipping hot !
